Golf instruction online

Filed under: eCommerce — roland @ 1:57 pm

The internet certainly changes how things are done. Take golf instruction for example. In the past if you wanted to learn how to play golf, you would go to a golf club or driving range an pay a “pro” to give you some lessons.

Now you can take a lesson right on you computer, over the internet. GolfLessonAcademy.com offers group and private golf lessons via web cam. With a high speed connection it is just like taking a golf lesson in person - but you don’t have to worry if it’s going to rain or if it is day or night. Online golf lessons are scheduled throughout the week.

Many Purposes - One Goal

When you surf the internet you’ll find web sites that:

So, how do I get people to buy from me? (more…)

word of mouse

Maybe the title Word of Mouse is not such a great play on words, but it is the new word of mouth.  Of course word of mouth advertising has always been a highly influential way of marketing for getting or losing customers.  The internet has changed WOM.

Remember bookmark this page, tell a friend, or web rings?  All had the goal of getting people to return or come to a web site.  In the past, maybe 50% of people found a website by a referring link versus a search engine result. Now with the hoards of websites people have to search through and with which you must compete, seaches are an important gateway.  Search results however, don’t instill a warm and fuzzy feeling about a website - searches provide cold hard results.

Word of mouse works… (more…)

How about Flash

Filed under: website design — roland @ 7:57 pm

I know you’ve seen them, those Flash websites with sounds, music, and great image transitions. They are cool, pretty, like a TV commercial, and engaging.

So, should you have a Flash (rather than an HTML) website?

Don’t get me wrong, I love viewing Flash websites… well not all of them, but the well done ones - yes.  Just because it looks cool is Flash appropirate for your website?  That is the critical question. (more…)
